Freshman Party

It happened to me, when I was a freshman. From the first day I enrolled in NTU, I was anxious to attend the freshman party.

Back to the social environment of 1970's, it was the first time that boys are going to meet girls.

In the party, I could not help noticing a girl who had the most brilliant looking and sweetest smile. Boys were surrounding to her and I was waiting.

After a very long lineup, I grabbed my chance to ask her for a dance.

"Got to try" I told myself. In the ending of the dance, I mustered up my courage and asked her:

"As such a girl with the most brilliant looking and sweetest smile as you, There must be a lot of boys will offer you a ride to see you home."

"I cannot accept everyone's kindness" she said.

"How will you do, then?" I wondered.

"For those who are not appropriate," she answered "I do not want to hurt their feelings, I will tell them 'It won't be convenient for you, since I live in Kee-Lung'."

Her consideration comforted me. I admired her and told her:

"I did not imagine you are not only have the most brilliant looking and sweetest smile on the outside, but also have the nice and warm spirit on the inside."

"However," I was curious, "Where do you live after all?"

She gently looked at me with  the most brilliant looking and answered me with the sweetest smile:

"Kee-Lung."
