Part II    APPEARANCE

How to create a better view for an e-education website?
An efficient web design can increase the chance that a user stays on your website. Usually, it's not necessary to be very fancy, but it must be very clear to read the information.

1. Give your site a well-organized structure
Don't put too much various information on one page. You want to give your user some information instead of making them do an exercise, don't you? If you put too much information in one page, you will cause two problems. First, your users have to keep clicking or rolling the scrolling bar. Then they found it's an endless reading, and they might just leave here to find some other site that can make them feel free to read. Second, when you put too much and various information on one page, your users will lose track. It doesn't mean you don't have good content, but you might don't have good organization. You want your users can come back to read your article, right? Then you should make each page be well organized so that when the users come back, they can know where they can find their information instead of reading the whole page that might have a lot of paragraph that has nothing to do with the information that he/she is looking for.

2. Fairly Using Images
It's necessary to put images to illustrate some of the points. It's difficult enough to read in the screen so don't just put all the text on your web. However, one thing is as important as using images is do not to put too many images; otherwise it will distract the user.

3. Don't over use animation
Animation is good to attract the users attention. It's good to use it somewhere that you want your user to really pay attention. However, how do you feel if you see too much animation on the screen? Can you tell which one is important? Too much animation will distract the user from reading and make them feel uncomfortable sometimes. Of course, you could still put animation in your pages. But make sure that you really put the "skip" button for user to choose they want to see it or not. I believe your user will appreciate your understanding and keep your website bookmarked.

4. Don't use dark background
It's cool to create a website by using dark background, but if you want your users to really get some information from your site instead of showing them that you have ability to create a cool website, I really think you shouldn't use dark background. Most people still feel more comfortable reading dark words on light paper. It can increase the readability of your website.
